 | You will be provided with a horse and tack for the duration of your stay. Horses are suited to the rider and will be changed regularly, as horses need to be spelled. You will learn how to saddle and care for your horse. You will be instructed how to drive the cattle throughout the day. All meals (breakfast, morning smoko, lunch, afternoon smoko and evening meal) are provided. | Lunch is provided from the back of the "tucker" wagon and everyone given a chance to have a ride in the wagon at any stage if they feel that they are a little saddle sore. Transfers to and from the Cattle Drive Camp to arrival and departure points are also included in the daily rate. How to get to Aramac  | Aramac is located north of Brisbane in Queensland, just 13 hours travel by car, bus or train and about 2.5 hours by plane. You may travel to Barcaldine or Longreach via bus, train or plane, where transport can be arranged free of charge to take you to Aramac and the Harry Redford Cattle Drive Camp Site. | QANTAS offers daily flights to Longreach and three flights a week to Barcaldine. The Spirit of the Outback (Queensland Rail) travels to Barcaldine and Longreach twice a week. If you are travelling from North Queensland, you can take the inland route via the Torrens Creek Road. For those from the Southern States, we are able to offer an inland route via the Torrens Creek Road to Townsville and Cairns, which will reduce the distance travelled (in comparison with the Coastal route) by some 1100 km. |
