How to get here

The Harry Redford Cattle Drive commences in Aramac, Outback Queensland. All of the event packages include transfers from Aramac, Barcaldine or Longreach and the Cattle Drive campsite.

Road Sealed roads connect Aramac to nearby towns from all directions. Driving from the South West, take the Matilda Highway to Barcaldine then follow the signs to Aramac. Driving from the East, take the Capricorn Highway to Barcaldine, then follow the signs to Aramac. Driving from the North, take the Flinders Highway to Torrens Creek then travel 270km along the Aramac/Torrens Creek Road to Aramac. Use the RACQ Trip Planner to plan your route.

Air QantasLink flies directly into Barcaldine from Brisbane on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Travel time is approximately 2 hours. Daily QantasLink flights operate into Longreach from Brisbane.Travel time is approximately 2.5 hours.

Rail Queensland Rail operates the Spirit of the Outback Rail service twice weekly between Brisbane and Barcaldine/Longreach. Westbound overnight rail journeys depart Brisbane on Tuesdays and Saturdays. East bound overnight rail journeys depart Longreach/Barcaldine on Mondays and Thursdays. Travel time is approximately 24 hours.
